Westlake is one of the most exclusive communities in North Texas.  Besides the Park Cities and Preston Hollow, Westlake has the highest income level in the state.  Westlake is on Hwy 114 about three miles past the Southlake Town Square.  At this point, there are no markings that show there to even be a town of Westlake.  It's a well kept secret along Dove Road.

The homes in Westlake are very large and tend to sit on large lots.  The feeling of the area is “scenic and rural”.  The development of Westlake has been a bit spotty with small rural farms and large ranches intermixed with large estates and planned neighborhoods. The overall feeling of the community is, however, very comfortable, and driving through the area's hills and trees is always a pleasure .

Westlake Academy is the one public school in Westlake.  The academy is a Texas Charter School meaning that it does not have to follow the academic rules and curriculum of state or federal schools.  The curriculum is international and rigorus and the students always score near the top of any tests. 

The lifestyle in Westlake is family oriented and well healed.  Shopping is mostly in Southlake or along HWY 114 in Grapevine.
